War Hawks look to build a winner in 2013

La MonroeThe War hawks are coming off one of the more impressive seasons in recent history and will benefit from the additional practices they had during their preparation for the Independence Bowl. This year they are returning 17 starters (tied for most in Sun Belt), and will have a shot at double digit wins. This year’s team is stacked to a point where most experts would pick them to have an outside shot at winning the Sun Belt this season.

INJURY TO PACKERS OFFENSIVE LINEMAN BRYAN BULAGA COULD SHAKE UP THE REST OF THE NFC‏

Bryan Bulaga gets into it with Israel Idonije, who probably deserves to be punched anyway

This week Packers offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga suffered a torn ACL at training camp and will miss the whole 2013 NFL season. Since it wasn’t a position player, this story was virtually unrecognizable amongst all of the other crazy sports stuff that happened this week.

Personally, I thought before this injury the Packers were in a little bit of trouble anyway. On both sides of the ball, their lines were very thin and there were other lingering questions about their ability to return to being the Super Bowl contender they were just a short time ago. Louisiana Tech looking for consistency in 2013

Idaho Louisiana Tech FootballFor the third straight time, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have hired the son of a former coaching legend. After Sonny Dykes took the California coaching job, the Bulldogs decided to bring in Skip Holtz, who will now follow behind Derek Dooley and Sonny Dykes as the lastest son to coach the bulldogs. Unlike the other two, Holtz has previous head coaching experience with stops at Uconn, Eastern Carolina and South Florida. He will have his hands full this season as Louisiana Tech is only returning seven starters across the board. The Bulldogs have always been the little team that could shock people and do more than expected. But this year, expectations could be low for the bulldogs as they will have a tough time in a Conference USA.
