SBM Exclusive: The BLAST-CAST, Volume 12 – Tales of Depression and Sorrow: The Seattle Mariners

SBM Blastcast Header RobertsIt’s been a while, but the SBM Blast-Cast is finally making its triumphant return! Rest assured that while J-Dub and Meehan were serving time for DUI convictions working with the Ukrainian revolutionaries, they never once lost sight of the sports world and all it contains. However, Meehan’s return from Eastern Europe was delayed by the fact the Russian border guards took a dim view of the placement of his Vladimir Putin tattoo. So, while Meehan is getting a Soviet-era belt sander not-so-lovingly applied to his (REDACTED), the staff here at Sports Blog Movement had to scramble to keep our planned podcast revival afloat.

To save the day, in steps fellow Sports Blog Movement member and KUGR Radio personality Neil Roberts, who in an episode of Tales of Depression and Sorrow sits down with J-Dub to talk about the angst involved in being a fan of the Seattle Mariners.

SBM Exclusive Feature: The BLAST-CAST – Volume 10: The Champions League Final

SBM Blastcast Header Wiebe

Today’s installment of the SportsBlogMovement Blast-Cast is a history maker for several reasons. First, it’s our tenth episode, which may not seem like a lot, but that means we’ve already outlived about 96% of the internet podcasts out there. Secondly, we are going international, not just in terms of content, but with our guest podcaster.

The topic is a preview UEFA Champions League Final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Helping us to break down this pinnacle of European soccer is SportsBlogMovement’s own resident expert on “the beautiful game,” Jeremy Wiebe. Not only is Jeremy “our man on soccer,” he’s also the blogging pride of Canada. Why else would his profile picture be an action shot of Pierre Hamel?

If you are a soccer fan, and you want to hear a couple of North Americans who actually follow the game, click here to listen to or download the Blast-Cast (MP3 format)…The Blast-Cast is also available on Itunes; just search “SportsBlogMovement.”

SBM Exclusive Feature: The BLAST-CAST – Volume 7: Does Brandon Ayanbadejo Have An Ulterior Motive For His Gay Rights Advocacy?

SBM Blastcast Header

Not all topics are about happiness and sunshine. In today’s installment of the Blast-Cast, Ryan Meehan from East End Philadelphia and J-Dub from Dubsism explore a controversial subject, and question one of it’s more out spoken proponents. The topic is the presence of gay athletes in the National Football League, and whether or not it is politically correct, Meehan and J-Dub ask some legitimate questions about former Ravens’ linebacker Brandon Ayanbadejo’s advocacy of openly gay players in the NFL. To make a long story short, it is very possible that Ayanbadejo has an ulterior motive that in Meehan’s own words “may be more political than humanitarian.”
