The Not So Definitive Look At Random College Football Related Things…kinda…

College football is pretty much upon us, and college football previews are out there in bulk. This would normally be the time where you would expect a strict look at the college football action that is set to begin. That being said, this is not  a preview that is looking at the actual rosters; this is a preview that is going to take a look at some of the more interesting things that go along with College Football.

This is going to be a list post, with some explanations regarding why I’ve put teams/logos/traditions/etc. into certain categories, or ranked them where I did. This is basically a different way to take a look at college football, and to (hopefully) introduce people to some of the cooler things from around the country.  So (in the immortal words of Michael Bolton); boys, let’s get to it.

The Worst Teams Of All Time. Part 36. The 1992-93 Ottawa Senators

This series of articles will celebrate (or laugh at) some of the worst professional sports teams of all time. I will focus on teams within my lifetime so expect the worst from the 1970s to present day.

Ottawa Senators

When the NHL decided to expand from 21 to 24 teams, few thought the city of Ottawa had a chance of landing an expansion franchise. The arena at the time, the Ottawa Civic Centre, was deemed to small by most, and plans for a new arena still had a few years to develop.

So it was a surprise to many, when NHL president John Ziegler awarded an expansion franchise to the Canadian Capital in 1990 to begin play in the 1992-93 season, along with Tampa Bay. Ragin’ Cajuns looking for three-peat in Sun Belt

R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl - East Carolina v Louisiana LafayetteThe Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns are the defending back to back Sun Belt conference champions and are coming off a very successful 9-4 season. Last season was capped off with a New Orleans Bowl victory over East Carolina. This year the Cajuns and head coach Mark Hudspeth are looking for another conference title and another bowl trip. This year they return 13 starters from last season and look to be more experienced across the board.
