Flashback to 2008. The Davidson College Wildcats, behind future NBA sharpshooter Stephen Curry, captivated the college basketball world when they made it all the way to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament as a 10-seed. On their magical run they upset basketball powers Gonzaga, Georgetown, Wisconsin and Kansas. The Georgetown game specifically was one of the best NCAA Tournament games of all time, with almost no one giving the Wildcats a chance until Curry and Jason Richards dropped 30 and 20 respectively. With Bob McKillop as coach, Davidson had worked towards this for a long time after many first round losses before. Curry’s 32 points a game in the tourney along with key contributions from Richards and Andrew Lovedale were a formula for success in one of the greatest underdog stories in college history.
